ABOUT THE WORKFLOW

Upscale an Image
Upload a photo and get a larger, sharper version back. The workflow sends your image to Topaz for AI upscaling with face enhancement and detail recovery, then returns the result. That's it.

Partner node. This workflow calls an external API, so each run uses credits from your API wallet. No API key needed. Floyo handles the connection.

Model

  • Topaz Gigapixel Precision by Topaz Labs. Five specialized upscaling models trained on millions of images, each tuned for a different image type. The default, High Fidelity V2, preserves original detail and grain in high-quality source photos.

HOW IT WORKS

Step 1. Upload your image
The photo you want to upscale. Any resolution, any subject. Higher-quality originals give cleaner results.
Works great with: portraits · landscapes · product shots · AI-generated images

Step 2. Hit run
The settings are already configured for a clean 2x upscale with face enhancement on. For a first run, change nothing.

Step 3. Download the result
The upscaled image previews on canvas. Right-click the preview to download.
Ready for: Photoshop · Lightroom · Figma · print

First time? Leave every setting as-is. The defaults (High Fidelity V2 · 2x · face enhancement on · JPEG) are the right starting point for almost everyone.

RECOMMENDED SETTINGS

Quick-start guide. Find the goal that matches yours and copy the settings.

  • Standard upscale (most people) — High Fidelity V2 · 2x · face enhancement on · JPEG. The right starting point for almost everyone.

  • Upscaling a low-resolution or compressed image — Switch the model to Low Resolution. It prioritizes overall quality over fine detail and handles heavy compression artifacts better.

  • Upscaling AI-generated art or illustrations — Switch the model to CGI. It handles digital art, renders, and stylized images without adding unwanted photorealistic texture.

  • Upscaling an image with small or legible text — Switch the model to Text Refine. It sharpens letterforms and keeps text readable at larger sizes.

  • Need a bigger enlargement for print — Raise the upscale factor to 4x. Expect longer processing and a larger output file.

  • The result looks over-sharpened or noisy — Lower face enhancement strength or turn face enhancement off. For images without faces, turn it off entirely to avoid the model hallucinating facial detail where there is none.

  • Need lossless output — Switch output format from JPEG to PNG.

Prompt: No prompt needed. This workflow takes your image as the only input. All adjustments happen through the model selector and settings.

USE CASES

📸 Photographers
Upscale older or cropped photos to print-ready resolution without losing texture or grain.

🎨 AI Artists
Take a Midjourney, Flux, or Stable Diffusion image and enlarge it to poster or wallpaper size with clean detail.

🛍️ E-commerce & Product Teams
Upscale product photos for high-resolution listings, zoom views, and print catalogs from a single source file.

🖼️ Archival & Restoration
Enlarge scanned photos, film stills, or legacy assets that were saved at low resolution, recovering detail the original file could not show.

WHAT WORKS BEST / WHAT TO AVOID

✅ Works great

  • Well-lit photos from phones or DSLRs

  • AI-generated images (use CGI model for stylized art)

  • Portraits and group shots (face enhancement handles these well)

  • Clean product shots on solid backgrounds

⚠️ May produce softer results

  • Heavily compressed JPEGs with visible blocking artifacts

  • Extreme low-light or underexposed images

  • Images already at very high resolution (less room to improve)

  • Screenshots with thin UI text at small sizes

FAQ

What is Topaz Image Upscale Precision?
Topaz Image Upscale Precision is a set of AI upscaling models from Topaz Labs, the company behind Gigapixel AI. The "Precision" models are designed to stay faithful to the original image, enlarging it up to 4x while reconstructing texture, edges, and fine detail. This workflow runs those models through an API so you can use them in the browser without installing Topaz software locally.

What is the difference between the five Topaz upscale models?
High Fidelity V2 preserves original character like grain and noise, making it the best default for high-quality photos. Standard V2 applies stronger detail generation for softer or lower-quality images. Low Resolution is built for heavily compressed or very small source files. CGI handles digital art, renders, and illustrations. Text Refine sharpens legible text in the image. Pick the one that matches your source material.

Does Topaz upscaling work on AI-generated images?
Yes. For photorealistic AI images, High Fidelity V2 or Standard V2 works well. For stylized or illustrated AI art, switch to the CGI model so the upscaler preserves the art style instead of adding photorealistic texture on top of it.

What does face enhancement do, and should I turn it off?
Face enhancement detects faces in the image and applies targeted detail recovery to skin, eyes, and hair. It is on by default at 0.8 strength. Turn it off for images without faces, such as landscapes, products, or architecture, to avoid the model introducing unwanted artifacts.

Can I use Topaz upscaled images for commercial projects?
Topaz Labs is a commercial API service. Outputs generated through this workflow are yours to use in commercial work. The licensing is between you and Topaz Labs as the API provider. Review their current terms if your project has specific compliance requirements.

What resolution can I upscale to?
The workflow supports up to 4x upscale factor. A 1000x1000px source image at 4x produces a 4000x4000px output. Larger upscale factors take longer and cost more per run. For most use cases, 2x is the right starting point.

How to run Topaz image upscaling online?
You can run Topaz image upscaling online through Floyo. No installation, no setup, no API key to wire up. Open the workflow in your browser, upload your image, and hit run. Free to try.

WHY FLOYO?

Floyo is the only platform with team collaboration for ComfyUI in the browser. You run workflows with no install. You share run history, assets, and models across your team. You pay only when you generate. Floyo supports open-source and closed-source models.

A designer runs an edit and likes the result. A teammate opens that exact run from shared history and keeps going. No file handoffs. No version confusion.

For studios and enterprise teams, Floyo adds private workspaces, pooled resources, and a team usage dashboard. Other ComfyUI cloud tools run for one person at a time. Floyo runs for the whole team, with transparent per-generation costs.
