ABOUT THE WORKFLOW

Edit an Image
Upload a photo, describe what to change, and get the edited version back. Add a second image as a reference to guide the look, or paint a mask to target a specific area. That's it.

Partner node. This workflow calls an external API, so each run uses credits from your API wallet. No API key needed. Floyo handles the connection.

Model

  • GPT Image 2.5 Flare by OpenAI. The fast, everyday variant of GPT Image 2.5. Strong at single-element edits that preserve the rest of the scene, multi-turn editing without drift, and readable text in images.

HOW IT WORKS

Step 1. Upload your image
The photo you want to edit. Any format, any subject.
Works great with: photos · portraits · product shots · designs

Step 2. Describe the change
Say what to change and what to keep, in plain language. "Replace the notebooks she's holding with a bouquet of sunflowers. Keep everything else the same" is better than "change the objects."

Step 3. Add a reference image (optional)
A second image the model can pull from. Use it to bring in a style, an object, or a specific look you want the edit to match.

Step 4. Paint a mask (optional)
Draw over the area you want edited. Leave it empty and the model decides where to apply the change based on your prompt.

Step 5. Hit run and download
GPT Image 2.5 Flare applies the edit and returns the result. Preview it in the workflow, then download.
Ready for: Photoshop · Figma · Canva · any editor

First time? Leave every setting as-is. The defaults (auto size · high quality · 1 image · PNG) are the right starting point for almost everyone.

RECOMMENDED SETTINGS

Quick-start guide. Find the goal that matches yours and copy the settings.

  • Standard edit (most people) — Auto size · high quality · 1 image · PNG. The right starting point for almost everyone.

  • Want options to choose from — Raise num images to generate several edited versions in one run and keep the strongest.

  • Need higher detail for print or large display — Set quality to xhigh or max. Takes longer and costs more credits per run.

  • Quick preview before committing — Set quality to low or medium for a faster, cheaper test run.

  • Editing or adding text in the image — Spell out the exact words you want. GPT Image 2.5 Flare renders text accurately, which sets it apart from most image models.

  • The edit hits the wrong area — Paint a mask over the area you want changed. Without a mask, the model guesses where to apply the edit.

  • The edit changes too much — Be explicit about what to keep. "Swap the background to a beach at sunset, keep the person, pose, and lighting" is clearer than "change the background."

Prompt: Describe the change and what to preserve. "Replace the jacket with a denim one, keep the pose and background" is clearer than "change the outfit." When you add a reference image, say what it contributes to the edit.

🔤 Text-accurate Edits
Edit or add legible text in an image, such as signs, labels, titles, or packaging copy, where most image models struggle.

Change outfits, accessories, hair, or surroundings on a portrait while preserving the subject's face and pose.

WHAT WORKS BEST / WHAT TO AVOID

✅ Works great

  • Clear, specific edit instructions

  • Single, clean source images

  • Object swaps and background replacements

  • Edits that add or change readable text

  • Reference images to guide the look

⚠️ May produce softer results

  • Vague instructions like "make it better"

  • Multiple conflicting edits in one prompt

  • Crowded source images with many overlapping subjects

  • Requests that require generating large new areas from scratch

FAQ

What is GPT Image 2.5 Flare?
GPT Image 2.5 Flare is the fast, everyday variant of OpenAI's GPT Image 2.5 model, released on September 8, 2026. It is built for speed while keeping high output quality, delivering results up to 50% faster than GPT Image 2. Flare supports text and image inputs, up to 16 reference images, an optional inpainting mask, and output up to 3840px on the longest edge. It is accessed through the API only and does not have open weights.

What is the difference between GPT Image 2.5 Flare and Sunburst?
Flare is the fast default, built for everyday generation, rapid iteration, and high-volume workflows. Sunburst trades speed for tighter editing precision on demanding creative work. Both accept the same inputs, support the same quality settings (low through max), and use the same API token rates. Choose Flare when turnaround matters. Choose Sunburst when a single edit needs exact control and longer generation time is acceptable.

Can GPT Image 2.5 Flare render text in images?
Yes. Accurate text rendering is one of its strengths. It handles signs, labels, titles, packaging copy, and other readable text in images better than most image generation models. Spell out the exact words you want in your prompt for the best results.

Do images from GPT Image 2.5 Flare have a watermark?
OpenAI applies an invisible SynthID watermark to all outputs to mark them as AI-generated. It does not change how the image looks, but it stays embedded in the file.

Can I use the output for commercial projects?
GPT Image 2.5 Flare is a proprietary OpenAI model. Under OpenAI's current terms, you own the output you create and can generally use it commercially, including in ads, social media, client work, and product images. Review OpenAI's current terms for your specific use case, and note that outputs carry the SynthID watermark.

What resolution does GPT Image 2.5 Flare support?
The maximum output is 3840px on the longest edge, with aspect ratios from 1:3 to 3:1. Custom sizes must be multiples of 16. The default setting is auto, which matches the dimensions of your input image. For most editing work, auto is the right choice.

How to run GPT Image 2.5 Flare online?
You can run GPT Image 2.5 Flare online through Floyo. No installation, no setup, no API key to wire up. Open the workflow in your browser, upload your image, describe the edit, and hit run. Free to try.

WHY FLOYO?

Floyo is the only platform with team collaboration for ComfyUI in the browser. You run workflows with no install. You share run history, assets, and models across your team. You pay only when you generate. Floyo supports open-source and closed-source models.

A designer runs an edit and likes the result. A teammate opens that exact run from shared history and keeps going. No file handoffs. No version confusion.

For studios and enterprise teams, Floyo adds private workspaces, pooled resources, and a team usage dashboard. Other ComfyUI cloud tools run for one person at a time. Floyo runs for the whole team, with transparent per-generation costs.
