ABOUT THE WORKFLOW
Sharpen an Image
Upload a photo and the AI sharpens it. The model detects the type of blur in your image and corrects it, returning a cleaner version at the same resolution. Turn on face enhancement for portraits.
Partner node. This workflow calls an external API, so each run uses credits from your API wallet. No API key needed. Floyo handles the connection.
Model
Topaz Sharpen AI by Topaz Labs. An AI sharpening model that analyzes blur type and recovers detail, strong at correcting soft focus, mild motion blur, and refining faces in portraits.
HOW IT WORKS
Step 1. Upload your image
The photo you want to sharpen. Any resolution, any aspect ratio.
Works great with: portraits · landscapes · product shots · event photos
Step 2. Hit run and download
The model analyzes the blur, sharpens accordingly, and returns the result. Preview it in the workflow, then download.
Ready for: Photoshop · Lightroom · Capture One · any editor
First time? Leave every setting as-is. The defaults (Standard model · strength 0 · JPEG) are the right starting point for almost everyone.
RECOMMENDED SETTINGS
Quick-start guide. Find the goal that matches yours and copy the settings.
Standard sharpening (most people) — Standard model · strength 0 · JPEG. The right starting point for almost everyone.
Sharpening a portrait — Turn on Face Enhancement and leave its strength near the default (0.8). The model detects and refines faces separately from the rest of the image.
Fixing mild motion blur — Switch the Model setting from Standard to a motion-specific option before raising strength. The right algorithm matters more than brute force.
Want less noise in the result — Raise Minor Denoise from 0. This reduces small noise before sharpening, so the model sharpens detail instead of grain.
Need a different file type — Switch the output format to match where the image is going.
The result looks over-sharpened — Keep strength low. At 0 the model still applies its default correction. Raising it adds progressively more aggressive sharpening.
Prompt: No prompt needed. This workflow uses the image and settings only.

USE CASES
📸 Photographers
Rescue soft shots from a shoot without re-shooting. Upload the image, run it through the Standard model, and get a sharper version back in seconds.
🖼️ Portrait & Headshot Retouching
Sharpen faces and skin detail in headshots and portraits. Turn on Face Enhancement and the model refines facial features separately from the background.
🛍️ Product & E-commerce
Clean up product photos before listing them. Recover detail lost to slight camera shake or a missed focus, so product textures read clearly at any display size.
🎬 Post-Production & VFX
Fix soft frames pulled from video or recover detail from compressed stills before compositing them into a larger project.
WHAT WORKS BEST / WHAT TO AVOID
✅ Works great
Slightly soft or out-of-focus photos
Mild motion blur from handheld shooting
Portraits and headshots (with Face Enhancement on)
High-resolution source images
⚠️ May produce softer results
Heavily blurred or severely out-of-focus images
Very low-resolution source photos
Images with extreme compression artifacts
Photos where the subject moved fast during a long exposure
FAQ
What is Topaz Sharpen AI?
Topaz Sharpen AI is an AI-powered sharpening model made by Topaz Labs. It analyzes the type of blur in a photo and applies targeted correction, rather than applying uniform sharpening across the entire image. It is part of the Topaz Photo AI suite, which covers sharpening, denoising, and upscaling.
How is Topaz Sharpen AI different from Unsharp Mask or regular sharpening in Photoshop?
Traditional sharpening tools like Unsharp Mask increase edge contrast uniformly across the image. Topaz Sharpen AI uses a trained model to detect what kind of blur is present (soft focus, motion blur, or general softness) and correct for it specifically. This means it recovers actual detail rather than adding edge halos, and it handles mixed-blur images better than a single global setting.
Does Topaz Sharpen AI upscale the image?
No. The output is the same resolution as the input. It sharpens and recovers detail at the existing resolution. If you need to upscale, pair this workflow with a separate upscaling workflow.
Does Face Enhancement work on group photos with multiple faces?
Face Enhancement detects and refines faces in the image. It works on portraits and group shots where faces are visible and reasonably sized in the frame. For best results, the faces should be clearly lit and not too small relative to the full image.
Can I use the output commercially?
Topaz Sharpen AI is a proprietary model by Topaz Labs. Outputs are processed versions of your own images, so commercial use depends on your rights to the source image. There is no additional license restriction from the sharpening itself.
What does the Strength setting do if the default is already 0?
At strength 0, the model still applies its default sharpening correction based on the detected blur type. Raising the value adds progressively more aggressive sharpening on top of that baseline. For most images, the default is enough. Raise it only when the result still looks soft.
How to run Topaz Sharpen AI online?
You can run Topaz Sharpen AI online through Floyo. No installation, no setup, no API key to wire up. Open the workflow in your browser, upload your image, and hit run. Free to try.
WHY FLOYO?
Floyo is the only platform with team collaboration for ComfyUI in the browser. You run workflows with no install. You share run history, assets, and models across your team. You pay only when you generate. Floyo supports open-source and closed-source models.
A designer runs an edit and likes the result. A teammate opens that exact run from shared history and keeps going. No file handoffs. No version confusion.
For studios and enterprise teams, Floyo adds private workspaces, pooled resources, and a team usage dashboard. Other ComfyUI cloud tools run for one person at a time. Floyo runs for the whole team, with transparent per-generation costs.
