HOW IT WORKS

Step 1. Upload your image The photo you want to upscale or clean up. Old, compressed, and low-resolution shots are all fair game. Works great with: low-res photos · compressed images · AI-generated art · game captures

Step 2. Choose how far to scale Keep the default 2x factor, or switch to resolution mode to hit a target like 1080p, 2K, or 4K. Factor mode multiplies the size, resolution mode aims for an exact output.

Step 3. Hit run and download SeedVR2 upscales and restores in a single pass, rebuilding detail in faces, hair, text, and edges while it cleans up blur and noise. Ready for: Photoshop · print · web · any editor

First time? Leave every setting as-is. The defaults (2x · factor mode · low detail · JPG) are the right starting point for almost everyone.

RECOMMENDED SETTINGS

Quick-start guide. Find the goal that matches yours and copy the settings.

  • Standard upscale (most people) Start here — 2x · factor mode · low detail. The right starting point for almost everyone.

  • Hit an exact resolution — Switch the mode to resolution and set the target: 1080p, 2K, or 4K. Use this when the output has to be a specific size.

  • Result looks oversharpened — Lower the detail (noise) setting. SeedVR2 can push detail hard, and a smaller value keeps the texture looking natural.

  • Want more detail recovered — Raise the detail setting a little. It rebuilds more from the source, with a higher chance of inventing detail that was not there.

  • Restoring an old or noisy photo — Keep the detail low and let the model clear compression and grain without overdoing it.

  • Reproduce a result you liked — Lock the seed to the number that produced it. Same image and seed give you the same upscale again.

  • Need the cleanest file — Set the output format to PNG instead of JPG to avoid any compression in the saved image.

A note on detail: The detail setting is the main knob here. Low keeps the result faithful to the source, which is what you want for restoration. Higher lets the model rebuild more, which can add clarity but also invent texture, so raise it in small steps.

USE CASES

🖼️ Photo Restoration Bring old, blurry, or compressed photos back to clarity, recovering detail in faces and fine texture.

🎨 AI Art Finishing Upscale generated images to print or display resolution with clean edges, instead of leaving them soft at base size.

🎮 Game & Asset Capture Sharpen gameplay frames, screenshots, and environment shots so they hold up at larger sizes.

🛍️ Product & Print Prep low-resolution product shots for large-format print or high-dpi displays without a reshoot.

WHAT WORKS BEST / WHAT TO AVOID

✅ Works great

  • Low-resolution or compressed photos

  • Faces, hair, text, and fine edges

  • AI-generated images that need finishing

  • A clear subject to restore

⚠️ May produce softer results

  • Already high-res, clean images with little to gain

  • Extremely tiny or heavily degraded inputs

  • Artistic grain you want to keep

  • Pushing the detail setting too high

FAQ

What is SeedVR2? SeedVR2 is a one-step restoration and upscaling model from ByteDance's Seed research team, released under the Apache 2.0 license. It works on both images and video, and it does restoration and upscaling in a single pass, rebuilding fine detail like faces, hair, text, and architecture while removing blur and noise. This workflow runs the image upscaler.

How is SeedVR2 different from a regular upscaler? A regular upscaler enlarges an image by interpolating the pixels it already has, which makes a bigger but often softer result. SeedVR2 is a restoration model: it rebuilds real detail and clears compression, blur, and grain as it scales. That is why it recovers things like facial features and small text that a simple resize leaves mushy.

How much can SeedVR2 upscale an image? You can scale by a factor, like 2x, or switch to resolution mode and target an exact output such as 1080p, 2K, or 4K. It handles a range of input sizes, so it works on both small low-res images and larger source files that need cleaning up.

What does the detail setting do? It controls how aggressively SeedVR2 rebuilds detail. A low value keeps the result faithful to the source, which is best for restoration. A higher value lets the model add more texture and sharpness, which can look crisper but also risks inventing detail or oversharpening. Raise it in small steps.

Can SeedVR2 fix blurry or compressed photos? Yes. It is built for exactly that: removing blur, compression artifacts, and grain while recovering detail. Keep the detail setting low for the most faithful cleanup, and the model restores clarity without pushing the texture too far.

Can I use the results commercially? Yes. SeedVR2 is released under the Apache 2.0 license, which permits commercial use, and images you upscale on Floyo carry full commercial rights. You are responsible for having the right to use the images you upload.

How to run SeedVR2 online? You can run SeedVR2 online through Floyo. No installation, no setup, no GPU to rent. Open the workflow in your browser, upload an image, choose your scale, and hit run. Free to try.

WHY FLOYO?

Floyo is the only platform with team collaboration for ComfyUI in the browser. You run workflows with no install. You share run history, assets, and models across your team. You pay only when you generate. Floyo supports open-source and closed-source models.

An editor runs an upscale and likes the result. A teammate opens that exact run from shared history and keeps going. No file handoffs. No version confusion.

For studios and enterprise teams, Floyo adds private workspaces, pooled resources, and a team usage dashboard. Other ComfyUI cloud tools run for one person at a time. Floyo runs for the whole team, with transparent per-generation costs.

Ready to try it? Upload your image and run it. Pick a scale and the rest is set.
