Turn a panorama into 3D
Upload a 360 panoramic photo and get a textured 3D mesh back. The model reads depth across the whole scene and builds the geometry in one pass. Download it and open it in any 3D viewer.

HOW IT WORKS

Step 1. Upload your panorama
A 360 equirectangular photo, the wide 2:1 kind a panorama camera or a 360 render produces.
Works great with: outdoor scenes · interiors · game references

Step 2. Hit run
The settings are already dialled in. For a first run, change nothing and hit run.

Step 3. Download your 3D mesh
You get a textured GLB file. It drops straight into a 3D app or viewer with the original colours wrapped onto the surface.

First time? Leave every setting as-is. The defaults are the right starting point for almost everyone.


RECOMMENDED SETTINGS

Quick-start guide. Find the goal that matches yours and copy the settings.

  • Standard use (most people) — texture on, decimation 1, auto resize off. The right starting point for almost everyone.

  • Want the full-detail mesh — keep decimation at 1. It preserves every point the model estimates, so the shape stays as accurate as the source allows.

  • Need a smaller file — raise decimation. It simplifies the mesh and shrinks the GLB, handy for web or real-time engines.

  • Want a plain grey surface — turn texture off. Useful when you only need the shape for sculpting, retopo, or lighting tests.

  • Working with an oversized panorama — turn auto resize on. It scales anything over 2048px down before processing so the run stays stable.

  • Mesh has holes between near and far surfaces — raise the gap threshold above 0.04 to close more of them. Lower it to keep more open space between separate objects.

Input image: The mesh is only as good as the panorama. A well-lit 360 with clear depth between foreground and background reads best. A flat, non-panoramic photo or a dark scene gives the model less depth to work from.

FAQ

What is MoGe-2?
MoGe-2 is a monocular geometry model from Microsoft Research. It recovers 3D geometry from a single image, including metric depth and fine surface detail, in one forward pass. It is released under the MIT license, which makes it open for commercial use.

How does turning a panorama into a 3D mesh work?
The workflow splits your 360 panorama into overlapping views, estimates depth for each one, and stitches them into a single point map. It then converts that point map into a mesh and wraps your original image colours onto it as texture.

What file format is the output, and can I open it in Blender or Unity?
The output is a GLB, the standard glTF 3D format. It opens directly in Blender, Unity, Unreal, and any glTF viewer, with no conversion step. From there you can edit, retopologise, or use it as a scene base.

Do I need a 360 camera to use this?
No. Any equirectangular panorama works, including 360 renders, stitched captures, and AI-generated panoramas. The one requirement is the wide 2:1 panorama shape, so the model has a full scene to read depth from.

Is MoGe-2 free for commercial use?
Yes. The model is released under the MIT license, a permissive open-source license that allows commercial use. Keep in mind that the mesh you get is only as clear of rights as the panorama you upload, so make sure you own or are licensed to use your source image.

How is this different from photogrammetry?
Photogrammetry needs many overlapping photos and a longer processing step to reconstruct a scene. This runs from a single panorama in one pass, so it is faster and simpler. The tradeoff is less precision, which makes it better for blocking out and reference than for exact measurement.
