Generate complete songs from a style prompt and lyrics. Describe the sound you want (genre, mood, instruments, key, tempo), paste your lyrics with section tags like [Verse] and [Chorus], and Minimax Music 2.6 sings, plays, and arranges the track. Flip the instrumental toggle for score with no vocals. Tracks run up to four minutes.
How do you use Minimax Music 2.6 to generate a song?
Write a style prompt that names the genre, mood, lead instruments, key, and BPM. Paste your lyrics with section tags like [Intro], [Verse], [Chorus], [Bridge]. Set the instrumental toggle based on whether you want vocals. Minimax Music 2.6 handles the singing, the band, and the arrangement. Hit Run.
Style prompt Describe what you want to hear: genre, mood, which instruments lead, key, BPM. The more specific the prompt, the closer the result. "Orchestral cinematic, operatic female lead with low male choir, rising strings and timpani, E minor, 140 BPM" gives the model a clear picture. "Epic song" does not. Length sits between 1 and 2000 characters.
Lyrics Use section tags to shape the structure. [Intro], [Verse], [Pre-Chorus], [Chorus], [Bridge], [Outro] all work. Want a dramatic lift before the final chorus? Tag a [Bridge] and add stage direction in parens like "(choir and timpani swell)". The model reads those as mood cues for that section.
Want the model to write the words for you? Leave the lyrics field empty with the instrumental toggle off. The built-in Lyrics Optimizer writes words that match your style prompt.
is_instrumental Set to true when you need backing tracks, game loops, trailer score, or ambient beds. No vocals, only arrangement. Set to false (default) for full songs with singing. When instrumental is on, your style prompt becomes the main driver, so make it descriptive.
Audio format settings Defaults are 44100 Hz sample rate, 256 kbps bitrate, and MP3 format. Fine for most uses. Bump bitrate to 320k if you plan to pull the track into a mix or remaster.
What is Minimax Music 2.6 good for?
Full, release-ready songs written from a description. Minimax Music 2.6 delivers tracks with vocals, layered instruments, and song structure that sound studio-mixed on the first pass. It handles sub-bass and low-end better than earlier versions, holds structure across verses and choruses, and gives you up to four minutes per track.
Original songs for ads, shorts, TikToks, or indie content where licensing an existing track would cost more than the project budget. Write the hook you want, let the model perform it.
Instrumental score for game levels, cutscenes, trailers, and video beds. Toggle on instrumental mode, write a mood-led prompt like "tense synthwave, heavy bass, slow build, 90 BPM," and you get a score you own.
Demo tracks for songwriters. Write a chorus, tag a verse structure, get a sketch with vocals before you book session time or reach for session musicians.
When to reach for something else: if you already have a melody you want the track to follow, this workflow writes from scratch. There is no melody input mode in this version.
FAQ
What is the difference between Minimax Music 2.6 and earlier Minimax Music versions? 2.6 adds two things 2.5 and 2.0 did not ship: AI Cover mode (not in this workflow) and Lyrics Optimizer, which writes lyrics from your style prompt when the lyrics field is empty. 2.6 also improved sub-bass and low-frequency reproduction, which matters for House, Trap, Drum and Bass, and cinematic scoring.
Can I generate instrumental music with Minimax Music 2.6? Yes. Set is_instrumental to true. The model skips vocals and delivers arrangement only. Your style prompt handles genre, mood, instruments, and tempo. The lyrics field can be left empty when instrumental is on. Good for game score, trailers, ambient beds, and video backing tracks.
How long can a Minimax Music 2.6 track be? Up to four minutes per generation. For longer pieces, run multiple generations with consistent style prompts and stitch them in an editor. Keep structural tags matching across runs if you want chorus sections to line up sonically between parts.
How do you write a good style prompt for Minimax Music 2.6? Name the genre. Name the instruments that lead. Describe the dynamics (restrained, building, erupts). Give a key and a BPM. "Indie folk, acoustic guitar and mandolin, warm and melancholic, D major, 85 BPM" beats "sad song" every time. Specificity does most of the work.
How to run Minimax Music 2.6 online? You can run Minimax Music 2.6 online through Floyo. No installation, no setup. Open the workflow in your browser, write your style prompt and lyrics, and hit run. Free to try.
