ABOUT THE WORKFLOW
Split a 3D Model into Parts
Paste a direct URL to an FBX 3D model file. The model scans the geometry, identifies distinct structural components, and returns each part as a separate FBX download. That's it.
Partner node. This workflow calls an external API, so each run uses credits from your API wallet. No API key needed. Floyo handles the connection.
Model
Hunyuan 3D Part Splitter by Tencent. An open-source segmentation model that combines P3-SAM and X-Part to detect and separate structural parts in a 3D mesh with high fidelity.
HOW IT WORKS
Step 1. Paste your FBX file URL
A direct download link to the FBX file you want to split. The default points to a sample bed model on GitHub. Replace it with your own.
Works great with: AI-generated meshes · scanned models · hard-surface assets
Step 2. Hit run
The model analyzes the geometry and identifies distinct structural parts. Processing takes 15 to 30 seconds.
Step 3. Download your parts
A list of download URLs appears in the output, one per separated component. Each part is its own FBX file.
Ready for: Blender · Maya · Unity · Unreal · 3D printing slicers
First time? Use the default sample URL to see how it works, then swap in your own file link.
RECOMMENDED SETTINGS
This workflow has no adjustable settings. Paste a URL and run.
First run with the sample file — Leave the default URL and hit run. You get back a set of separated bed parts so you can see the output format before using your own model.
Using your own model — Replace the default URL with a direct download link to your FBX file. Cloud drive share links and preview pages will not work. The link must point to the raw file.
Model from Hunyuan3D, Meshy, or another AI tool — AI-generated meshes are a good fit. The model reads geometry boundaries well when the mesh has distinct structural components.
Model is too large or times out — Keep files under 100 MB and 30,000 faces. Larger meshes may fail or time out. Decimate in Blender first if needed.
Parts are not splitting where expected — Check the original mesh. If components are fused into a single surface, the model reads them as one piece. Clean topology with clear part boundaries splits best.
Need a different file format — This workflow accepts FBX only. Convert OBJ, GLB, or PLY files to FBX in Blender before uploading.
Prompt: No prompt needed. This is a geometry-based workflow. The model reads the mesh structure directly and splits on detected part boundaries.

USE CASES
🎮 Game Developers
Split a character model into body, armor, weapon, and accessories so each piece can be animated, textured, or swapped independently in-engine.
🖨️ 3D Printing
Decompose a complex model into printable sections. Print each part separately and assemble, instead of fighting with supports on a single monolithic mesh.
🎨 3D Artists and Kitbashers
Break down a hard-surface asset into reusable components. Pull out gears, panels, or connectors to remix into new designs.
🏗️ Product and Industrial Design
Separate a product model into structural components for targeted re-texturing, engineering review, or exploded-view renders.
🤖 AI-Generated Asset Cleanup
Take a mesh from Hunyuan3D, Meshy, or any AI 3D generator and split it into clean parts for rigging, material assignment, or further editing.
WHAT WORKS BEST / WHAT TO AVOID
✅ Works great
Mechanical and hard-surface models with clear part boundaries
AI-generated meshes from Hunyuan3D, Meshy, or similar tools
3D-scanned objects with distinct components
Character models with separate accessories (hats, armor, weapons)
⚠️ May produce softer results
Organic single-surface shapes with no clear part boundaries
Meshes where components are fused into one continuous surface
Files over 100 MB or 30,000 faces
Non-FBX formats (convert to FBX first)
FAQ
What is Hunyuan 3D Part Splitter?
Hunyuan 3D Part Splitter is an open-source 3D mesh segmentation model built by Tencent's Hunyuan team. It combines two systems, P3-SAM for native 3D part segmentation and X-Part for high-fidelity shape decomposition, to automatically detect and separate distinct structural components in a 3D model. You upload a single mesh and get back individual files for each identified part.
What file formats does Hunyuan 3D Part Splitter accept?
This workflow accepts FBX files only. If your model is in OBJ, GLB, or PLY format, convert it to FBX first using Blender, Maya, or another 3D tool. The Hunyuan 3D Part model itself supports GLB, PLY, and OBJ natively, but this specific workflow is configured for FBX input via URL.
Does Hunyuan 3D Part Splitter work with AI-generated 3D models?
Yes. AI-generated meshes are one of its strongest use cases. The Tencent team recommends scanned or AI-generated meshes as input, including models from Hunyuan3D V2.5, V3.0, Meshy, and similar tools. These tend to have well-defined geometry boundaries that the model can read cleanly.
What is the difference between Hunyuan 3D Part Splitter and manually separating meshes in Blender?
Manual separation in Blender requires you to select geometry by hand, decide where each cut goes, and split piece by piece. The Part Splitter automates this by analyzing the full mesh geometry and semantics to detect structural boundaries. For a model with dozens of components, it turns hours of manual work into a 15-to-30-second process. The trade-off: manual separation gives you exact control over every cut, while the AI model decides where parts begin and end based on learned geometry patterns.
Is Hunyuan 3D Part Splitter open source?
Yes. Tencent released it under the Tencent Hunyuan 3D-Part Community License. The code is on GitHub and the weights are on HuggingFace. In this workflow, it runs as a billed API node, so you do not need to install anything locally.
Can I use the output commercially?
The model is open source under Tencent's community license, which allows commercial use. The output is a set of separated FBX mesh files derived from your own input geometry. Review Tencent's license terms for specifics, and make sure you hold the rights to the original model you upload.
How to run Hunyuan 3D Part Splitter online?
You can run Hunyuan 3D Part Splitter online through Floyo. No installation, no setup, no API key to wire up. Open the workflow in your browser, paste your FBX file URL, and hit run. Free to try.
WHY FLOYO?
Floyo is the only platform with team collaboration for ComfyUI in the browser. You run workflows with no install. You share run history, assets, and models across your team. You pay only when you generate. Floyo supports open-source and closed-source models.
A designer runs an edit and likes the result. A teammate opens that exact run from shared history and keeps going. No file handoffs. No version confusion.
For studios and enterprise teams, Floyo adds private workspaces, pooled resources, and a team usage dashboard. Other ComfyUI cloud tools run for one person at a time. Floyo runs for the whole team, with transparent per-generation costs.
Ready to try it?
Paste an FBX file URL and hit run. The sample model is already loaded.
