ABOUT THE WORKFLOW
Upscale a Video
Upload a video and get it back at a higher resolution, up to 4K. The model regenerates each frame at the new resolution instead of stretching pixels, fixing common artifacts like smudged faces and gridded textures along the way. Add an optional prompt to guide the detail.
Partner node. This workflow calls an external API, so each run uses credits from your API wallet. No API key needed. Floyo handles the connection.
Model
FLUX Video Upscale by Black Forest Labs. A FLUX 3 powered super-resolution model that regenerates video at higher resolution, with precise and creative processing modes.
HOW IT WORKS
Step 1. Upload your video
The clip you want to upscale. 480p or higher, up to 20 seconds and 50 MB.
Works great with: short films · social clips · AI-generated footage · product videos
Step 2. Write a prompt (optional)
Describe what is in the clip. This helps creative mode add the right kind of detail. Leave it blank if the footage is clean and you want a straightforward upscale.
Step 3. Hit run and download
FLUX Video Upscale regenerates every frame at your chosen resolution. Audio is preserved. Preview the result in the workflow, then download.
Ready for: Premiere Pro · DaVinci Resolve · After Effects · any NLE
First time? Leave every setting as-is. The defaults (2x upscale, creative mode) are the right starting point for almost everyone.
RECOMMENDED SETTINGS
Quick-start guide. Find the goal that matches yours and copy the settings.
Standard upscale (most people) — 2x · creative mode. Doubles the resolution with added detail. The right starting point for almost everyone.
Quick and cost-efficient upscale — 2x · precise mode. Four steps instead of eight. Faster, cheaper, and keeps identity and text consistent.
Upscale to 4K for broadcast or large screens — 3x · creative mode. Lands at native 4K from an HD source. Use this when the final output is for delivery, projection, or broadcast.
Faces or brand details must stay exact — Switch to precise mode. Creative mode can drift faces and logos. Precise keeps them consistent.
Upscaling AI-generated footage — 2x or 3x · creative mode. FLUX Video Upscale understands FLUX 3 output natively and fixes common generation artifacts like smudged faces and gridded textures on water or grass.
Result looks soft or over-smoothed — Start from the least compressed source file you have. Heavy compression in the input limits what the model can recover.
Prompt: Optional, and empty by default. When you use it, describe the scene, not the upscale. "Aerial drone shot over a coastline, turquoise water, white sand" is better than "make it sharper." Creative mode uses the prompt to decide what kind of detail to add.

USE CASES
🎬 Post-Production & VFX
Upscale short clips and VFX plates to 2K or 4K for broadcast delivery, without the artifacts that local upscalers introduce at those resolutions.
🤖 AI Video Cleanup
Take AI-generated footage from FLUX 3 Video, Wan, or Kling and upscale it while fixing common generation artifacts like soft faces, gridded water, and smudged textures.
📱 Social to Broadcast
Rescue a social-resolution clip or phone video for a larger format. The model regenerates detail rather than interpolating pixels, so the result holds up on bigger screens.
🎥 Short Film & Indie Production
Finish a project shot or rendered at lower resolution and deliver at 4K without re-rendering the entire pipeline.
WHAT WORKS BEST / WHAT TO AVOID
✅ Works great
AI-generated footage (FLUX 3 Video, Wan, Kling, Runway)
Landscape and environment clips
Clean, well-lit source footage
Short clips under 20 seconds
⚠️ May produce softer results
Heavily compressed source files (low bitrate MP4, re-encoded social exports)
Faces and brand logos in creative mode (use precise instead)
Clips longer than 20 seconds (split first, then upscale)
Extreme low-light or noisy footage
FAQ
What is FLUX Video Upscale?
FLUX Video Upscale is a video super-resolution model from Black Forest Labs, the lab behind the FLUX image and video models. It takes a source video from 480p or higher and regenerates it at up to 4K, with two processing modes: precise for speed and identity consistency, and creative for added detail and artifact repair.
What is the difference between precise mode and creative mode?
Precise mode runs in 4 steps and keeps faces, text, and brand details consistent with the source. Creative mode runs in 8 steps and pushes harder on detail generation and artifact repair, but it can drift identity. Use precise for people and product shots. Use creative for landscapes, environments, and AI-generated footage.
Can FLUX Video Upscale fix artifacts in AI-generated video?
Yes. It understands FLUX 3 output natively and fixes common problems in generated footage, such as smudged faces, gridded textures on water and grass, and soft edges. It also works well on footage from other video models like Wan and Kling.
What resolution does FLUX Video Upscale output?
The upscale factor ranges from 1.5x to 3x relative to the source resolution. From an HD input, that lands at roughly 1080p (1.5x), 2K (2x), or 4K (3x), within a 14.4 megapixel frame cap. Output is returned as MP4 with audio preserved.
What are the input limits for FLUX Video Upscale?
The source video can be up to 20 seconds long, 50 MB in file size, and 2560x1440 in resolution. 480p is the minimum input resolution. Audio from the source clip is extracted and rebuilt into the final output.
Can I use the upscaled video commercially?
FLUX Video Upscale is a proprietary Black Forest Labs model. Commercial use of outputs is governed by the BFL API agreement and Terms of Service. Commercial use is generally allowed, but review Black Forest Labs' current terms for your specific use case.
How to run FLUX Video Upscale online?
You can run FLUX Video Upscale online through Floyo. No installation, no setup, no API key to wire up. Open the workflow in your browser, upload your video, and hit run. Free to try.
WHY FLOYO?
Floyo is the only platform with team collaboration for ComfyUI in the browser. You run workflows with no install. You share run history, assets, and models across your team. You pay only when you generate. Floyo supports open-source and closed-source models.
A designer runs an edit and likes the result. A teammate opens that exact run from shared history and keeps going. No file handoffs. No version confusion.
For studios and enterprise teams, Floyo adds private workspaces, pooled resources, and a team usage dashboard. Other ComfyUI cloud tools run for one person at a time. Floyo runs for the whole team, with transparent per-generation costs.
