Image to Video with Seedance Pro API

ABOUT THE WORKFLOW

Animate a Still Into a Clip Upload a start image and describe the motion. Seedance Pro builds the video and returns a clip. Add an optional end image to steer where the shot lands. Audio is off by default but available.

Partner node. This workflow calls an external API, so each run uses credits from your API wallet. No API key needed. Floyo handles the connection.

Model

• Seedance Pro by ByteDance. The first-generation Pro tier of the Seedance family. Takes a start image, an optional end image, and a text prompt, and generates a clip at up to 1080p. Strong at smooth cinematic motion from a reference image with stable character consistency. Superseded by Seedance 2.0 and 2.5, but still available on the API. Closed model with no open weights.

HOW IT WORKS

Step 1. Upload your start image The frame the clip opens on. It sets the subject, the scene, and the framing. Works great with: character art · portraits · product shots · concept frames

Step 2. Upload an end image (optional) The frame the clip should land on. Helps the model plan the motion path from start to finish.

Step 3. Describe the motion Say what moves and how, plus the camera. "The vampire in a film noir walks along the hotel bar."

Step 4. Hit run and download The clip is saved as an MP4 under SeedancePro/vid. Ready for: Premiere · DaVinci Resolve · CapCut · After Effects

First time? Leave every setting as-is. The defaults (1080p · 5 seconds · 16:9 · audio off · random seed) are the right starting point for almost everyone.

RECOMMENDED SETTINGS

Quick-start guide. Find the goal that matches yours and copy the settings.

• Want sound on the clip — Turn audio on. The model writes sound in the same pass as the picture. Describe the sound in the prompt for the closest match.

• Want a different shape — Switch the aspect ratio dropdown. 16:9, 9:16, and 1:1 are available.

• Want the shot to land on a specific frame — Upload a second image as the end frame. The model plans the motion between the two.

• Want the camera locked — Turn camera fixed on. The camera holds position and the subject moves. Leave it off and the model chooses camera motion based on the prompt.

• Repeat a take you liked — Set a fixed seed number. The same images, prompt, and seed give you the same clip back.

• The motion is wrong — Rewrite the prompt. Name each movement and what stays fixed. The prompt drives the motion.

Prompt: Write the action, not the contents. "The vampire walks along the hotel bar, camera tracks alongside, dim lighting, film noir atmosphere" gives you more than "vampire at a bar." Name the camera move separately from the subject motion.

FAQ

What is Seedance Pro? Seedance Pro is the first-generation Pro tier of ByteDance's Seedance video family. It takes a start image, an optional end image, and a text prompt, and generates a video clip at up to 1080p. It is strong at smooth cinematic motion with stable character consistency. It has been superseded by Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 but remains available on the API.

Is Seedance Pro the same as Seedance 2.5? No. Seedance Pro is the older first-generation model. Seedance 2.5, released July 2026, extends clip length to 30 seconds, supports up to 50 multimodal references, and adds region-level editing. Seedance Pro typically generates 5-second clips. Both are closed models reached through the ByteDance Seed API.

Does Seedance Pro generate audio? It can, but audio is off by default on this workflow. Turn it on in the settings. Describe the sound in the prompt and it goes onto the track.

Can Seedance Pro interpolate between a start and end frame? Yes. Upload a second image as the end frame and the model builds smooth motion from the first to the last. Both images should frame the subject at a similar size for the cleanest result.

What does camera fixed do? When on, the camera holds its position and the subject moves. When off, the model chooses camera motion based on the prompt. Use it for locked shots where you want steady framing.

Is Seedance Pro open source? No. Seedance Pro is a closed model with no published weights. It is reached through the ByteDance Seed API.
